Wayside Wheels Free Public Bike Shop

Open House

Saturday, October 13, 10am-2pm
432 E. Jefferson St. at Jackson

Calling all bicycle enthusiasts and others interested in learning more about Wayside Wheels. We are having an open house event to raise awareness for our bicycle program!

The primary purpose of the bicycle shop is to provide/repair bikes for people who cannot afford them. These individuals can also learn basic bike maintenance, such as how to fix a flat tire and adjust brakes. The shop is open at various times throughout the week. Dependable bikes are offered to residents of the shelter. All of these cycles are donations.Bikes can be purchased by residents or acquired through a work therapy program at the Mission.

Bicycles are important for homeless and low-income people to provide basic transportation to jobs, medical appointments, and recovery meetings. Most TARC buses now have bike racks, allowing those who use bicycles to travel all over town. Exercise and recreation are additional benefits of cycling.

Please come and join us! Food and drink will be provided. Local media will be covering the event.
